Rebekah's Birthday Party

Rebekah had a wonderful birthday party this evening. She was very excited to have all of her grandparents and most of her Land cousins here. Justin got sick today and had to stay at home with Uncle Brian- all the kids missed playing with him.
Yesterday when Rebekah and Miriam were looking though the Pink Princess Cookbook that Miriam got for Christmas from the MidLand cousins, Rebekah decided that she wanted a "pink princess cake" for her birthday. She chose to use a heart pan instead of the round pans the cookbook showed- I was just thankful that she changed her mind from her original cake request which was using the same kitty pan from last year, but making it pink, purple, and red striped!
We got hit with a winter storm today. Rob had big plans to use his smoker for a BBQ for the party, but with the cold and rainy weather we ended up getting carry out BBQ from a local restaurant. Rob's mom and my mom brought all the appetizers and side dishes so that I wouldn't have so much to do- everything was delicious. All I did for the party was make tea and birthday cake! By the time everyone left the party it was snowing quite a bit. The children can't wait for morning to see how much snow we have to play in.

She loved opening all her presents and can't wait to play with all her new things tomorrow!
