Santa didn't finish his work until 2:30am, so when the girls came to our room at 6:30am we sent them back to bed. At 7:15am they couldn't stand it any longer and came to wake us up again. They couldn't wait to check to see if the reindeer had eaten the food they left on the front porch. Rob was thrilled by the nice weather today- he smoked ribs and barbecue all day long and was able to be outside in shorts and a t-shirt. We moseyed slowly through presents from 7:30am until almost 1pm- playing with each new thing before moving on the the next. After lunch the kids and I napped while Rob cooked, then we played for the rest of the afternoon and evening only stopping for a quick dinner and a bath before bedtime. Rob did have to work tonight, he left not long after I put the girls to bed. He took the ribs, BBQ and homemade rolls to share with the other officers that had to be at work tonight.
Santa came!
The girls couldn't wait to get downstairs, while Michael was very unhappy about getting out of bed at 7:30am.
Rebekah went straight for the pony farm and Miriam found the mini doll house
Michael was still waking up, and not very happy about the lights and commotion.
He was finally tempted by the pony farm to get down and play.
Then Michael found the new Thomas train track and cars, Miriam found our first set of big kid Lego's, and Rebekah moved over to play with the dollhouse.
Memphis got to participate too- she loved her new toys, but managed to break 2 of them within minutes. Are puppy chew toys not actually meant to be chewed on?? We thought we picked sturdy toys, but she bit them into pieces. Next we had a yummy breakfast of cinnamon rolls and then moved on to the stockings. 
Michael was excited by new cars and finger puppets in his stocking. The girls were thrilled to find Leapsters and crafts in their stockings.
After playing for awhile with the stocking stuffers we opened the presents under the tree.

Memphis was content to play with her new toys. She did so well leaving the children's toys alone and only playing with her new things even though the kids toys were strewn all over the den floor all day.

The kids had such a wonderful time today playing with new toys. Miriam was plotting what she'll do first tomorrow as I tucked her into bed tonight. She said, "Mommy when I wake up in the morning I'm going to take my doll to the playroom and play with the new dollhouse. Then I'm going to play with my Leapster." They all agree that this was the "best Christmas ever!" It is so much fun to watch them- the older they get the more fun Christmas is!
