Lake Day 1

We spent several days in Virginia at the lake last week. It was wonderful and relaxing. No phone, no computer, no television, no cell phone service either! Just lots of time visiting with our extended family, relaxing, eating, and playing on the lake. We're going back for at least 5 days in July too-and maybe more if Rob gets vacation time approved! Can't wait!

Here are pictures of the children playing in the water with Grandma, Mac-Mac, and our cousin Laura. I was so amazed at how well the girls did swimming- we just handed them off the dock down to Grandma and Mac-Mac. Rebekah was nervous at first, but soon decided that it was great fun!
You can see how big Rebekah's life jacket is- it's frustrating! She's too heavy for the next size down, but the torso on the 30-50 lbs jacket is too long and it ends up making it difficult for her to be comfortable when swimming and sitting in it.

"I can do it myself!!!" says Miriam. (Mac-Mac stayed within arms reach though!)

Michael had a similar life jacket problem; his arms are stuck uncomfortably out to the side. The water was also chilly, and it was a long way down from the dock as well. He didn't like it and got out quickly. He also didn't like being on the boat due to the life jacket. Luckily he fell asleep and we were able to have a great boat ride. The girls loved helping Daddy drive the boat. Mac-Mac took his camera on our boat trip-I'm sure pictures will be up at his smugmug site soon.

The girls also loved riding on the paddle boat with Grandma and Laura.

Miriam says that the trailer at the lake is her favorite house-but her pink room here at home is her favorite room.
